WELCOME TO HIDDEN LIVES
WELCOME TO HIDDEN LIVES
Who we are
Hidden Lives is a support hub for people with hidden disabilities, chronic illnesses and chronic pain conditions. Many people have focused on helping people with more visible disabilities, but those whose disabilities are not as prominent, often don't get the support they require or need. The phrase "You don't look disabled to me" has been said to pretty much every single on of our group at some point in their lives. This kind of attitude and naivety is why many of our group used to or still stay more solitary in their lives and not want to leave the house.

This must change!

Our aim is not only to support, Listen and provide a comfortable area for people to express themselves, but to go further by educating and helping businesses to understand the issues to react more positively towards Hidden Disabilities. By making small changes to the workplace, every business has the capability to really maximize the potential of employees and benefit customers suffering from a Hidden Disability.

The Individual

We are committed to supporting our clients offering a nonjudgmental space for the to feel safe. To openly express their feelings and fears either through one to one counselling sessions or alongside others in supports groups, allowing yourself as a client of Hidden Lives to speak of your experiences and conditions often accompanied by people who have similar lives.

The Workplce

Hidden Lives aims to help businesses be supportive for its employees. This can be done through workshops, site visits and mediation. Its a way of helping businesses to show their support for disabilitiess that are unseen. A way of helping them adapt their working practices to better suit their employees and customers. Clients often are afraid to ask for help and employers can be unaware of the support they can give to their employees. That is where we can help.
